Consequences of living with an always-hungry Beagle

May 29th, 2007 | J Lee | Day In Day Out

May has been a destructive month and I’m ready for it to be done with.

Today, I caught the beagley dog making a snack out of my toothbrush and later found the remnants of my comfy silicon mouse pad scattered throughout the house. I’m pretty sure he grew an inch or two longer. He stands upright and now everything seems within reach off the desk, shelf or whatever is elevated. Among my prized possessions that have met his wrath: a pair of woven Birks, made mulch out of the tatami insoles to my Camper’s, and kindly sucked down the silicon nose and temple pads to the ic! berlin’s. Fortunately the latter was salvageable unlike the Birks.

He’s a couple days shy of 8 months. The once innocent, soft roundedness is replaced with total mayhem and chaos.

Don’t let his good looks deceive you, he’s all business. His insatiable appetite makes all things within grasp of his jaws fair game. Whether its edible/digestible is another story.

I hope the summer heat and humidity will slow down this beast before he chews me out of my remaining possessions.
