Transformer dog
The Transformers movie rocked. It far exceeded my expectations and it played out better than my childhood fantasies with scenarios involving Autobots vs. Decepticons vs. GI Joe.
I wish my dog could transform himself into a mobile phone, much like Frenzy did in the movie. He could transform to whatever device so I could take him along instead of staying home. Because when I returned home I found total destruction–Jelly managed to rip up the linoleum flooring in the kitchen. The extent of damage was much worse than anything he’s done thus far. The previous episode involved wallpaper.
I’m at a loss in how to deal with his severe separation anxiety. I had heard of giving anti-depressants (fluoxetine hydrochloride) or Prozac to dogs in the States, but the practice is not preferred by Korean dog owners. Its a cultural difference. Putting him down, or giving him away for the fear of someone eating him are not viable options. I visited the vet and he advised me to get a companion as in another dog, preferably a Shih Tzu. This breed is known for low maintenance and more importantly does not turn destructive when left alone.
Tomorrow, I’m getting new flooring. And I will more than likely be borrowing one of the vet’s personal dogs for a short-term trial run. And just as well start looking for Lilly’s anti-depressant for dogs, Reconcile.
