Numero uno
This post officially puts a end to my Tattertools experiment. I intended to stick with it for a 2-year stint, a good rounded number. There was no goodbye, just a spontaneous reaction to get it over with. It was inevitable. One thing that drove me over the edge was the lack of intelligent themes, or known as “skins.” Themes are very important to me, they’re more than just a pretty face. The design of the theme shouldn’t distract or impede the true functionality of a blog. For me, the TT themes were disappointing. There was just too much visual clutter. It appeared they weren’t designed for actual day in day out usage, but what appeared to be sexy or trendy. I could have sat down and ported a WordPress theme but that would only be delaying the inevitable.  Another complaint I had was the seemingly lack of simplicity (or understanding of highlighting user experiences) pertaining to new posting. I’m not one to complain but there should be some serious thought about cleaning up the usage flow. Such as reevaluating which functions/features are primary, secondary, and so on. From personal experience of posting, there are some things that you obviously need and don’t need (to see) every time you post.
In other news, I’ll be working on moving my TypePad stuff here in the next couple of days.
